1. Data controller
JDLK Advogados, a law firm headquartered at Rua José Maria Lisboa, 757, sala 106, Jardim Paulista, 01423-001, São Paulo — SP, Brazil, is the controller of the personal data collected through this website, as defined in article 5, VI, of Law No. 13,709/2018 (LGPD).
For any matter relating to this policy or to the processing of your data, please contact us at contato@jdlk.com.br.
2. Data we collect
This is an institutional website with no login area, user registration or document upload. We collect only:
- Data you provide in the contact form: name, e-mail, phone number (optional), subject (optional) and the content of your message.
- Technical browsing data: IP address, browser type and time of access, automatically recorded by the hosting provider and the network protection service, solely for security purposes and to prevent abuse.
We do not collect sensitive personal data, do not request documents and do not carry out behavioural profiling or targeted advertising.
3. Purpose and legal basis
- Responding to your enquiry: the contact form data is used solely to review and respond to your request. Legal basis: preliminary procedures related to a contract to which you are a party, at your request (art. 7, V) and legitimate interest (art. 7, IX).
- Website security: technical browsing data is used to protect the infrastructure against abusive access, automated attacks and bulk submissions. Legal basis: legitimate interest (art. 7, IX).
Your data is not used to send marketing communications, newsletters or any unsolicited contact.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell, rent or transfer personal data to third parties. Processing involves only infrastructure service providers, strictly as required for the website to operate:
- Hosting and corporate e-mail provider — storage of the web pages and transmission of messages sent through the form.
- Network protection and security service (CDN/WAF) — filtering of malicious traffic.
- Form anti-fraud service (Google reCAPTCHA) — verification that a submission was made by a person and not by a bot. This service is governed by its own provider's privacy policy and terms.
- Web font provider (Google Fonts) — loading of the firm's institutional typeface.
Some of these services may process data on servers located outside Brazil. In such cases, the international transfer complies with the requirements of Chapter V of the LGPD.
5. How long we keep it
Messages sent through the contact form are not stored in a database on this website: they are forwarded directly to the firm's corporate mailbox. Retention follows the time necessary to handle the request and, where applicable, the statutory retention periods relating to the practice of law.
Technical access logs are retained for the periods defined by the infrastructure providers, subject to article 15 of the Brazilian Civil Rights Framework for the Internet (Law No. 12,965/2014).
6. Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not use advertising tracking cookies or behavioural analytics tools. We use:
- Browser local storage — solely to remember that you have already seen the cookie notice, so it is not shown again.
- Technical security cookies — set by the network protection and form anti-fraud services, necessary for the secure operation of the website.
You may block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may affect submission of the contact form.
7. Your rights as a data subject (LGPD)
Under article 18 of Law No. 13,709/2018, you may request at any time:
- Confirmation that your data is being processed.
- Access to the data we hold about you.
- Correction of incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data.
- Anonymisation, blocking or deletion of data that is unnecessary, excessive or processed in breach of the law.
- Portability of your data to another service provider.
- Deletion of data processed on the basis of your consent.
- Information about the entities with which we have shared your data.
- Withdrawal of consent, where consent is the applicable legal basis.
To exercise any of these rights, write to contato@jdlk.com.br. We will respond as promptly as possible and may ask you to confirm your identity in order to protect your own data.
8. Information security
We adopt technical and administrative measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access and against loss, destruction or improper alteration: fully encrypted traffic (HTTPS), protection against automated attacks, minimisation of data collection to what is strictly necessary, and no storage of contact data on this website.
9. Professional privilege
Independently of the LGPD, all information received from clients and prospective clients is protected by the lawyer's duty of confidentiality set out in the Brazilian Bar Statute (Estatuto da Advocacia — Law No. 8,906/1994) and in the Code of Ethics and Discipline of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
Even so, we recommend that you do not include confidential information or sensitive case details in the contact form. Sending a message through this website does not create a lawyer-client relationship.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect legal or operational changes. The date of the most recent update is always shown at the top of this page.
